Jewish Care is the largest health and social care charity for the Jewish Community in the UK, caring directly for over 12,000 people each week. We employ 1,300 people throughout North London and the Southeast offering a wide range of services to people who are elderly, mentally ill, people with disabilities, holocaust survivors and refugees. Jewish Care also offers support and guidance to families, carers and the bereaved. Through our Jami services we also support community mental health, and work with adults, children and young people experiencing mental health challenges.

We are proud of our heritage, constantly looking to deliver excellent service and always driven to ensure that all people in our care lead fulfilling lives. As we continue to look to the future, we are seeking to appoint a new Director of People to help us to get there. Working closely with a high performing leadership team, skilled board, multiple service providers and our doners, you will lead on People related matters in our 2026 and beyond strategy.

As an experienced People and OD leader from similarly complex, multi-faceted, social or care organisations, whether that be in the private or public sector, you will come full of ideas about how to innovate our offer and enable our people to not just deliver good but excellent services for our customers. As we embark upon our Digital Transformation programme this role will be key in ensuring how our people best leverage their skills and knowledge to deliver excellent services in combination with technology.

Much more importantly than your sector knowledge will be your values and your approach.  At Jewish Care, we care for and respect our customers and our colleagues above anything else. You will have an authentic and compassionate style. You will be a leader who is able to innovate, support, learn and challenge to enable Jewish Care to be the best service provider it can be, so we can continue to build on strong foundations to create sustainable services for future generations to access.
